As a wedding photographer, We get asked a lot of questions, I often hear “this may be a silly question but…”

There is no such thing as a silly question for any wedding photographer if you need to know something just ask, We are always happy to answer anything. A wedding is not something you organise every day. There will naturally be many questions that you may have regarding your wedding photography, so I have listed some of these on this page.

Q: WHERE ARE YOU BASED, AND WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO BE OUR PHOTOGRAPHER OUR WEDDING IS…


We are based in the Tees Valley , in the North East of England we work weekly in North Yorkshire,York,Durham,Newcastle and Northumberland as well as Cumbria

Q: DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Yes, I have business insurance which includes public liability.

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOS CAN I EXPECT?

This, depends on a few factors, first of all, how many hours you would like us to cover for your wedding and also how many guests and details do you have? For 10-hour coverage, you can expect 500-600 photos,

Q: WHEN AND HOW DO WE BOOK?

As soon as you have the date for your wedding to avoid losing out to someone else, you should think about booking me sooner rather than later, to make sure your date is available. Once you pay your deposit (£100) the date is yours. I sometimes get booked up to 2 years in advance. Your deposit also secures the current prices which may increase later.

Q: CAN WE MEET UP BEFORE WE BOOK?

I always like to meet all couples, I think it’s important too.

Q: DO WE NEED/GET A CONTRACT?

Yes this is very important for both you and I, this is to reassure you exactly what you can expect from me and as all weddings are different they need to be made specifically for you.

Q: HOW LONG TILL WE HAVE OUR PHOTOGRAPH’S?

You will receive a sneak peek within 72 hours of your wedding day. All photos are ready between 4-5 weeks . After your wedding you will receive a link to your password-protected online wedding gallery.. I do offer an express service which means your images will be ready within 5 days of your wedding (subject to availability) see my wedding packages for more details.

Q: WHO / HOW DOES THE ALBUM PROCESS WORK?

You pick the images for the album around 140 .We will personally design the album layout . We would then send you a copy and this would be your opportunity to make any alterations with the choice of picture or layout. Once you are happy with the design production takes 3-4 weeks.

Q: DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE YOU FOOD ?

No. Happy if you do but no we bring a lunch with us.This allows us to stay on site all day.

Q: DO YOU TAKE FAMILY FORMAL PHOTOS?

Yes absolutely, We think the most important thing about being a wedding photographer is to make sure my clients are happy. If you guys want photos with your parents, siblings and friends then that is what we shall do.

Q: DO WE NEED AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?

You don’t need an engagement shoot, however they are amazing at getting you comfortable in front of the camera. Think of it as a trial before your big day! They’re also amazing opportunities to capture you guys in your natural environment. A chance to really capture you guys as a couple doing the things you love!
